Geoffrey Mwangi, former CEO of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), has denounced a political witch hunt after being interrogated by investigators from the Director of Criminal Investigations.

Mwangi said that he received a call from the DCI Nakuru branch on Monday, instructing him to attend at the office on Thursday, July 3.

Mwangi responded to the call and was questioned for allegedly arranging the chaos in Nakuru during the June 25 riots.

The former CEO was also accused of deliberately planning and funding similar turmoil for the forthcoming July 7 protests.

The former CEO claims that the allegations are political witch hunts designed to prevent him from abandoning his gubernatorial bid.

He has, however, stated that such measures will not scare him or his Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).

The leaders have admitted that there are intentions to hijack the Saba Saba protests and incite disorder and looting, which they are now accused of coordinating.
