Gachagua Reveals Stance On Ever Working With Ruto
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has stated that he will not engage in negotiations with President William Ruto, despite former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s appeals for national dialogue.
Gachagua, speaking on his tour of the United States on Saturday, July 12, stated it was impossible to converse with Ruto, whom he described as a pathological liar.
According to Gachagua, Ruto’s alleged deception was so severe that even the opposition began to question whether the President’s genuine name was William Ruto.
“It is not possible to have dialogue with Ruto because the guy is a pathological liar. We are actually having doubts whether his real name is William Ruto,” Gachagua stated.
“If there is any talk with William Ruto, I am not available. And I also do not think my sister (Martha Karua) is available,” he added.

During the Saba Saba rallies on Monday, July 7, Raila called for a ‘national conference’ to address Kenya’s sociopolitical and economic crisis.
According to the former Prime Minister, the country is currently dealing with the same concerns that sparked the Saba Saba riots in the 1990s, including economic hardship and human rights violations.
Raila contended that a national conclave would forge a new route for the country through civic involvement and economic change.
However, Gachagua dismissed the dialogue negotiations, arguing that Raila had nothing to offer at the political table.
According to the former Deputy President, Raila was advocating for dialogue while also benefiting from his position in government.
“That line of thinking of dialogue is being brought by Raila. Raila is totally irrelevant in the Kenyan political discourse,” Gachagua stated.

“Because every election cycle, he loses, he finds his way into government. He wants to be in government, but he does not want responsibility.
“Right now, he finds things are too hot; he wants to distance himself,” he added.
“But if he were a patriotic Kenyan, and he meant well for our country, he would disengage from Ruto. But now he is talking when his mouth is full.”
