Detectives from the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit (AHTCPU) and DCI Changamwe detained a couple in Mombasa for allegedly exploiting and online soliciting their own children.

The two parents, who are now facing serious charges, were captured as part of an intelligence-led operation.

The mother, 41, allegedly used a dating portal to market her three children, ages 13, 7, and 4 (two girls and one boy), exposing the minors to sexual exploitation.

Police investigations discovered that the woman was making money by distributing sexually explicit content involving her children and offering it to interested clients in exchange for payment.

Disturbingly, it was discovered that her husband, a 52-year-old man, had regularly defiled their teenage daughter.

Both accused have now been brought before the Mombasa Law Courts, where the mother was granted a Ksh1 million bond with two sureties in the same amount.

Meanwhile, the father remains in detention, with a bond hearing scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
