Mudavadi Blasts Wajir Woman Rep For ‘We Will Steal Votes For Ruto’ Remark
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has advised leaders against inciting election tensions in the country by questioning the integrity of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Speaking in Busia County, Mudavadi stated that the 2027 elections will be free and fair, despite allegations of rigging raised by Wajir Woman Representative Jehow Fatuma.
“Wale wanasiasa wanataka kupigiwa makofi kwa jukwaa..let us stop undermining the integrity of the IEBC…ati uchaguzi utaibiwa… weweee…kazi ya Ruto sio kuiba kura, atatafuta kura kwa Wakenya,” said Mudavadi.
The Wajir member declared that President William Ruto will win the 2027 elections by all means necessary.

She publicly indicated that leaders from the North Eastern area would “steal votes” for the Head of State in the 2027 General Election if the region’s numbers were insufficient – comments that Mudavadi was eager to refute.
“Sisi maneno yetu ni mafupi tu…tunasema tu two terms, ama kuna maneno ingine? Two terms sio…si tunangojea tu debe iletwe hata kama hatutakuwa na votes tutamuibia hiyo sio siri,” Jehow had said.

Mudavadi retorted: “Wewe kama una fikira za kuiba usiweke rais kwa hizo fikira…we want free and fair elections.”
A visibly enraged Mudavadi described the Wajir Woman Representative’s words as inciteful and intended to incite political tensions in the country.

The IEBC has now criticized the remarks, describing them as reckless and inappropriate in a democratic country.
The agency said that such comments could erode public trust in Kenya’s voting system.
The electoral body asked Kenyans to ignore such attitudes and trust the commission to hold free, fair, and verifiable elections.
Aside from the reprimand of colleagues and the public outrage caused by her remarks, no further action has been taken against the Wajir Woman Representative.
