Court Rules On Samidoh’s Arrest, Orders For His Passport
The High Court has ordered famed Mugithi singer and police officer Samuel Muchoki, also known as Samidoh, to lose his passport after the National Police Service (NPS) raised allegations of desertion of duty.
In a ruling issued on Friday, July 25, the court also granted Samidoh anticipatory bail of Ksh200,000 and issued orders barring his arrest.
The decision comes when the performer is in the United States, apparently on a musical tour.

He was recently filmed playing at the inaugural Ngemi Cia Ruraya Kikuyu cultural festival in Seattle, Washington, which was attended by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas.
Samidoh also participated in a Gachagua-hosted concert, where he performed several of his most popular songs.

The artist has since shared photos and videos on his social media platforms of himself performing and spending time with loved ones abroad.
In June of this year, the NPS ordered Samidoh’s immediate arrest, charging him with abandoning his duty position on May 27, 2025, following his reassignment to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) in Gilgit.
His inability to report to the new station and continuous absence for more than ten days resulted in disciplinary action.
A police report filed by the ASTU commandant confirmed that Samidoh failed to report back to duty on May 27, 2025, after his official leave expired.
