DCI Forensics Reveals Fresh Details Into Jirongo’s Death
Gilbert Masengeli, Deputy Inspector General of Police, has spoken out in response to mounting speculation about the death of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo in a traffic accident.
Masengeli asked for patience from his family and the entire public, pledging that the police will undertake thorough inquiries into what caused his death.
On Monday, December 29, the DIG spoke during a memorial service held at Jirongo’s residence in Kitale.
Masengeli urged the family to stop the continuous conjecture, stating that their investigations will expose the truth, despite the family’s requests for thorough inquiries.
“As the government, we will do the needful to investigate. We will leave no stone unturned till we get results. The forensic investigations are already out,” Masengeli stated.

“Technology does not lie. We should not speculate about anything. We will do everything within our powers to get to the bottom of this,” the DIG added.
Meanwhile, detectives who were investigating have apparently wrapped up their inquiries.
Even while the family continues to express concerns, the police said they discovered no evidence of foul play in Jirongo’s death.
The promise came in response to ongoing queries about Cyrus Jirongo’s death on the morning of December 13, 2025.
According to new accusations, CCTV cameras revealed that Jirongos’ automobile had other occupants, yet only Jirongos’ body was found at the scene of the collision, raising concerns.
One of the most pressing questions was why the MP was in Naivasha when he was supposed to be in Nairobi hours earlier.
The family stated that Jirongo had no plans to travel and had left his Karen home on December 12, only to be found dead hours later in Naivasha.

As the Jirongo burial ceremony happens on Tuesday, December 30, some Western region leaders have called for Jirongo to be buried according to customs.
This revealed some shocking cultural practices, including a torch being placed inside his casket.
Such rites are typically performed when a prominent figure dies under controversial or unresolved circumstances.
It is believed that the person responsible for the demise would not live long, as they would follow the deceased.
