TRAGIC! Police Officer Shoots Pub Owner THREE Times, Commits Suicide

Following a shooting incident at a local pub in Naivasha, Nakuru County, on Wednesday night, January 1, a police corporal left a female bar owner critically injured and then turned the gun on himself.

According to a police report filed at Kongoni Police Station, the event was reported by Corporal Bakari Juma, the officer in command of Kachuma Police Post.

Officers who arrived at the scene discovered two victims lying in pools of blood outside the tavern.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Corporal Collins Kochei, assigned to Tangi Tano Police Post under Munanda Police Station in Gilgil Sub-county, reportedly shot Lucy Wanjiru Njoroge, a 34-year-old Kikuyu lady and bar owner.

She suffered bullet wounds to both breasts and her right thigh.

The cop, who was armed with an AK-47 weapon, is said to have later turned it on himself, shooting himself in the jaw and leaving through the forehead.

A nice Samaritan brought both victims to Nakuru Provincial General Hospital.

Corporal Kochei was confirmed dead upon arrival, while the woman was admitted in serious condition and is presently receiving care.

Senior police personnel from Kongoni Police Station and the Sub-County Criminal Investigations Office investigated the situation.

The slain officer’s body was taken to the Nakuru Provincial General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Naivasha have launched investigations into the incident.
