TRAGEDY Rocks Kayole After GSU Officer Stabs Girlfriend To Death, Goes On The Run

A family in Nairobi’s Mihang’o estate is demanding the arrest of a General Service Unit (GSU) officer suspected of brutally murdering their family members.

Ann Muthoni Ngunjiri’s relatives claimed the woman was pursued by the culprit to her home in Mihang’o, Kayole, where she was allegedly attacked and stabbed to death before he left without a trace.

An autopsy established the cause of death as brain injuries caused by a mix of a sharp object and blunt force trauma.

The grieving mother claims that nothing can ever replace her child. An autopsy found that Ann died from head injuries caused by a combination of a sharp object and blunt force trauma.

“Hata wafanye aje, hakuna kitu nitapata. Huyo mtoto wangu ameenda. Hata ashikwe afanyiwe aje, mimi mtoto wangu sitawai mpata,” said Wanjiku.

Ann was slain on Sunday evening at her home in Mihang’o, Kayole, allegedly by a GSU officer.

The 23-year-old had been in an on-and-off relationship with the suspect until Sunday, when the suspect allegedly decided to end their relationship in tragic circumstances.

According to neighbours, the suspect tracked the woman to her residence in Mihang’o, where he allegedly assaulted and killed her before locking her body inside and disappearing under the cover of darkness.

On Monday, February 2, Ann’s body was discovered under the bed, saturated in blood.

“Wanasema alimfuata hadi kwa nyumba na alionekana. Sasa alimuulia huko na akafunga mlango akawacha key kwa security,” said Wanjiku.

Despite the fact that the suspect has been identified, the family claims that authorities have done little to track down and arrest him. Police said their investigations are advanced.

“The suspect has since been identified and he works with the Kenya Police GSU Embakasi. We are in hot pursuit and soon we will arrest him,” said Joseph Owuoth, Police Commander, Kayole.

The family plans to transport her body to Nyahururu and, thereafter, burial at their home in Subukia, Nakuru County, even as they cling to hope that someday justice will be served.
