According to the commission, the arrest stemmed from a complaint filed on Thursday, May 28, by a resident whose electrical supply had apparently been disconnected.
“The arrest followed a complaint lodged with the Commission on May 28, 2026, by a resident whose electricity had been disconnected two days earlier,” it added.
Sources close to the investigations revealed that detectives mounted an operation after receiving the complaint, enabling them to monitor and document interactions between the complainant and the suspects.
The suspects were later escorted to the Integrity Centre in Nairobi for processing, even as investigations into the matter intensify.

The arrests come amid growing concerns over bribery allegations involving power technicians accused of demanding bribes to reconnect electricity previously disconnected by the company.
Weeks earlier, another employee of the utility company was arrested in Vihiga for demanding a Ksh20,000 bribe for power reconnection.
The suspect worked at KPLCβs Mbale-Vihiga office as a technician and was arrested on May 6, 2026.
This is after a carefully planned sting operation by the commission, after months of building a case against him.
The arrest adds to a growing list of public officers facing prosecution as EACC intensifies its crackdown on corruption within key public service institutions.
