PCS Mudavadi Responds To His Absence At KICC For Ruto-Raila Deal
Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary, was significantly absent when President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday, March 7.
Ruto and Odinga signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop collaboration between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement.
The agreement was revealed during an event at Nairobi’s Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
Prominent figures, including members of Kenya Kwanza-affiliated groups and the ODM party, were in attendance.
Mudavadi was unable to attend the occasion because he was attending the funeral of the late David Kirinyet, the father of Aurelia Ronoh, Principal Secretary for the State Department of Parliamentary Affairs.
However, he urged Kenyans to back Ruto’s decision.
Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Mudavadi highlighted that the two parties’ union will bring Kenyans together.

He also added that Ruto’s goal is one of progress and care for the Kenyan people, and asked the country to support him.
“We must support Ruto to the hilt, and I want to say that Ruto’s agenda is to unite Kenya, and his moves of uniting with ODM are because he wants to see progress and because he worries for the people of Kenya, and we should support him,” Mudavadi said.
“We sat and discussed as ANC; we decided to unite with UDA and set aside ANC, and as we speak right now, I am a member of UDA to support Ruto,” he added.
He also said that Ruto sent him Ksh2 million to help Principal Secretary Aurelia Ronoh’s family.
Among the attendees were former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Davis Chirchir, and Principal Secretary of State Department for Sports Peter Tum.
The agreed agreement for a quick audit of the country’s national debt specified how each debt incurred by Kenya was used.

Raila and Ruto also offered proposals to combat corruption in the country and stop the wasting of public resources, particularly among government leaders.
After the funeral, Mudavadi joined Ruto in chairing the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group meeting at the State House in Nairobi.
He noted that Ruto’s backing prioritizes the country’s interests before partisan disputes.
“Endorsed President Ruto’s call to lawmakers to put the Country’s interest first and prioritize the welfare of Kenya over political difference,” Mudavadi emphasized.
