Security Guards Lock Out County Officials Due To Salary Delays
Due to accumulated salary arrears surpassing seven months, security officers allegedly locked county officials out of their offices, disrupting activities in Bungoma County.
In protest of protracted payment delays, the unpaid workers blocked entrance to important county offices on Wednesday, June 17, intensifying a worsening payroll crisis that has continued throughout the county.
According to reports, the security personnel were visible within the enclosure and sealed the entrance gates.
As operations were halted, the lockout caused chaos surrounding the county buildings and attracted local citizens’ attention.
