According to the authorities, the accomplice managed to flee with injuries, and a makeshift gun capable of firing was discovered.
It is thought that the other thief fled with the stolen phone. The body was taken to the mortuary for identification and other formalities.
Police said they’ve strengthened patrols in the city and other metropolitan areas to combat armed robberies, which may grow during the back-to-school season.
Robberies are expected to increase in the following weeks, according to police, who have devised tactics to address the concerns.

It was then claimed that he attempted to rob an unknown pedestrian’s cell phone when an alarm was triggered, alerting a mob on New Year’s Day at about 10 a.m.
The mob attacked the two with stones and sticks, killing them before police came to transport them to the hospital.
Police condemn mob lynching and consider it a crime. They want suspects to be turned over to authorities for processing and prosecution.
