Mudavadi Promises To Give Youths Chance To Turn Around Kenya’s Economy
Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary, has acknowledged that if given the opportunity, young people can change the world’s economic prospects.
Mudavadi acknowledged in a statement released on Monday to commemorate International Youth Day that young people can drive active engagement with the issues that shape their lives in order to create a better future.
He went on to say that Kenyan youth have consistently demonstrated the ability to build a prosperous nation while also demonstrating a strong commitment to the country’s well-being.
Mudavadi went on to say that according to United Nations data, ‘half of the people on the planet are 30 or younger’, implying that the youth can be a force for change.

“Just last week, thanks to President Ruto’s efforts, Meta (the parent company of Facebook) announced new features that enable Kenyan content creators to earn revenue from short-form videos through advertising,” he said.
Mudavadi stated that with their energy, enthusiasm, and determination, all the young people require are opportunities to thrive.
“As the Kenya Kwanza government, this remains our unwavering commitment,” he said.
On Thursday, Meta announced two monetisation features for Kenyan content creators.
It stated that the two, In-Stream Ads on Facebook and Facebook Ads on Reels, would allow creators to earn money while creating original videos and cultivating communities.
Meta’s global partnerships lead in Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey. Moon Baz stated that the rollout will allow eligible creators in Kenya to earn money.
“Every day, we’re inspired by the incredible African creators who use Facebook to tell their stories, connect with others and bring people together,” Baz said.
“This expansion will empower eligible creators in the vibrant creative industry in Kenya to earn money, whilst setting the bar high for creativity across the world and making Meta’s family of apps the one-stop-shop for all creators.”
Eligible creators in Kenya will be able to earn money for their video and reel content, with support in over 30 languages worldwide, including Kiswahili.
To use either product, creators must pass and continue to comply with Facebook’s Partner Monetisation Policies and Content Monetisation Policies, as well as be at least 18 years of age.
Additionally, in-stream ad creators must meet certain eligibility requirements, such as having at least 5,000 followers.
