‘He Failed To Show Up!’ – Kalonzo Reveals Why He Expelled Farah Maalim From Wiper Party
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has claimed that Dadaab MP Farah Maalim ignored his summons following remarks made by the long-term lawmaker in the aftermath of the Generation Z protests.
In an interview with comedian Nasra Yusuf, the former Vice President stated that MP Maalim ignored disciplinary summons from the party, deepening the schism between the party and legislators.

βI called Farah Maalim, who is the deputy party leader, to come and explain to me the basis of his remarks and he has completely failed to show up,β noted the Wiper party leader.
Maalim sparked controversy earlier this year when he made inflammatory remarks in his native Somali.
The MP, speaking in an undated video that went viral, appeared to suggest that if he were Kenya’s President, he would have “slaughtered 5,000 Gen Z protesters” during the recent wave of anti-Finance Bill 2024 demonstrations.
Kalonzo quickly pointed out that the Wiper Democratic Movement had distanced itself from the MP and apologized to Kenyans for his comments.
βThe party members met and issued a statement dissociating the Wiper Democratic Movement from those very unfortunate statements,β Kalonzo added during the interview.
As a result, Farah Maalim was expelled from the party at the recommendation of Wiper’s National Executive Council.
In addition, the council called for his removal from all leadership positions in Parliament, including the Speaker’s panel.
In response, MP Maalim denied making such comments and claimed they were taken out of context. He also promised to continue expressing his views on national issues, despite the criticism he received.

βI have never wished for the death of anybody. I have educated many young men and women from this country from every community,β the MP said.
In the interview, Kalonzo called for Maalim’s resignation, claiming that he did not act in the party’s best interests.
He even suggested that the Dadaab lawmaker defect to Kenya’s ruling Kwanza coalition.
βWhat Farah should do is resign and maybe join Kenya Kwanza. He did not act in the best interests of our political party and also of our country,” Kalonzo insisted.
