Residents who sang triumphantly about Sang’s financial incompetence and corruption claims remained unconcerned when police shot tear gas canisters at them.
They sought video access to watch how MCAs handled the impeachment issue.

This occurred while the MCAs engaged in wild battles inside the chambers over the decision to impeach Governor Sang on allegations of egregious wrongdoing while in charge of county affairs.
Videos circulating on the X platform showed the MCAs engaging in late-night theatrics, including jumping over the chamber chairs and hurling shoes and things at each other while others yelled.

The County Assembly’s serjeant-at-arms tried to keep the rioting MCAs under control, with several exchanging blows within the chambers as they fought over the mace.
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei lambasted the police for their handling of the protesters, claiming that it was a flagrant violation of the law.
The Senator, a staunch critic of the governor, promised to raise the issue of alleged police misconduct with the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja.
“The police have started rioting by throwing teargas at the peaceful public who are currently following the debate at Kapsabet County Assembly grounds,” Cherargei stated.

Governor Sang’s time in Nandi County has been marked by drama, controversy, and calls for impeachment from locals and some leaders.
On September 24, this year, locals stormed the County Assembly, demanding Sang’s impeachment for underperformance, failure to produce development, and presiding over the hiring of ghost labor.
Members of the County Assembly were compelled to evacuate the chambers when they discovered that an irate mass of citizens was advancing toward the Assembly.
