CS Joho To Be Summoned Over Social Media Threats Rant
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has stated that the Senate will summon Mining Cabinet Secretary Ali Hassan Joho to question him about recent comments he made.
Speaking in an interview with Radio Citizen on Wednesday, Sifuna said that CS Joho has forgotten that as a Minister, his words have greater weight and that he cannot speak like a politician.
“We will summon Joho to the Senate buildings so that he can explain why he was threatening Kenyans
“The problem is that Joho has forgotten that he is no longer a politician, no longer a governor but a minister, and his sentiments as a minister are taken very seriously.”,” Sifuna revealed.
According to Sifuna, as a Minister, Joho has a responsibility to guarantee that his sentiments are acceptable, and he should be held accountable for what he says.
“We shall summon him for an intense grilling, ask him questions, ask him why he is threatening those questioning the government,” the senator revealed.

The Senate, which is on recess until February, will call the CS in February 2025.
The Nairobi senator disclosed that, despite the fact that the Senate was on recess, they would not forget him and would summon him when they reconvened in February.
Sifuna was responding to comments made by Joho on Tuesday while in Taita Taveta. Joho chastised social media users for opposing President William Ruto’s administration.
The former Mombasa governor vowed to assault bloggers who used social media to oppose Ruto’s administration.
“A country cannot be built through the internet. It cannot be built by people whose work revolves around Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok,” the CS remarked.
“Let me put them on notice. We can also talk. If they bring us trouble, we can also bring equal trouble.”

The Cabinet secretary was referring to the public outcry that prompted President Ruto to reject two Private Partnership deals negotiated by the Kenyan government with the infamous Indian conglomerate Adani.
Speaking in Taita Taveta, President Ruto chastised Kenyans for rejecting all of his programs, describing them as demonic spirits.
“There is an evil spirit of opposition—opposing everything. They oppose affordable housing, the vaccination of cattle to eliminate diseases, changing the system to save our universities and even universal health coverage.
“They oppose government projects and even offerings in the church!” President Ruto noted.
