KAKAMEGA: Gov’t To Appoint Caretaker Team To Run Malava Constituency
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has assured Malava constituency people that all ongoing initiatives will continue despite the death of MP Malulu Injendi.
Wetang’ula stated that, with the establishment of the new electoral commission expected to take longer, he will work with other Kakamega County officials to ensure that all activities, including the CDF bursary for students, continue smoothly.
During the burial on Tuesday, Wetang’ula praised the late Injendi as a hardworking leader who was always dedicated to serving his community.
“We are going to ensure that all projects are completed. We will have a caretaker team to help the management of this constituency so that we do not have a gap and hurt the electorates,” he said.
Today, as we laid my friend Malava MP Hon. Malulu Injendi to rest, I was pleased that politicians and leaders present adhered to my clarion call to maintain order during the solemn event and avoid using funerals to advance their selfish political agendas.

According to the Speaker, the former MP spearheaded various projects across the constituency to help his constituents.
He also asked President William Ruto to assist in ensuring that these outstanding projects are completed in his honor.
Injendi, who died on February 17 after a short illness, is left by his wife, Betty, and four children.
National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah and his Senate counterpart, Aaron Cheruiyot, who spoke at the occasion, slammed critics of the new medical coverage, Taifa Care.
They stated that, despite the ongoing debate and criticism of the scheme, it has continued to benefit many Kenyans.

“Before you speak, before you make noise, register first. What we have currently in this country are people who like playing politics and peddling lies in every matter,” said Cheruiyot.
Ichung’wah, for his part, advised the president to ignore critics and continue delivering on his stated goals.
He stated that, while some issues exist, they are being handled gradually.
“Do not listen to misinformation and disinformation being perpetuated,” he said while encouraging Kenyans to focus on their health, noting “the pain is only to you and your family”.
