POLITICS: Gachagua hosts Turkana Leaders In Nairobi
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua received a group of Turkana County leaders on Monday at his private property in Karen, Nairobi.
Gachagua stated that the agenda for the meeting would include discussions about resource management and the county’s political direction.
According to Gachagua, the leaders’ conversations prioritised the Turkana community’s needs and ambitions, emphasizing the need for regional representation and diversity.
“One of the key challenges we discussed is the crude oil extraction in the area and the benefits to the locals and Kenya as a whole,” Gachagua stated.

“The complexities of natural resource management and the need for equitable benefits for the local populace are issues of deep concern.”

He stated that locals must be listened to since their opinions could have an impact on the county’s economic and social fiber.
“It is apparent that there is a desire for strong, representative leadership that prioritises the needs and aspirations of the community at the National arena,” he said.
“As they navigate the political landscape, the people of Turkana are seeking representation that truly reflects their interests.”
