ALBERT OJWANG: Family Lawyer Speaks After Viewing The Body
The late influencer Albert Ojwang’s family lawyer has released previously unknown details about his body, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his death.
Ojwang died on Sunday, June 8, with authorities reporting that he suffered significant head injuries.
However, the circumstances surrounding the influencer’s injuries raise serious concerns, with Ojwang’s family lawyer saying that the deceased’s head was considerably swollen.
“The body had a lot of injuries on the head, the hand, and the shoulder area. There was a lot of blood oozing from the nose,” the lawyer told the media on Monday.
Ojwang’s family lawyer, who examined the body, questioned the official police account that the influencer was merely discovered unconscious in his cell, revealing that the deceased had blood seeping from his nostrils.

When word of Ojwang’s death came on Sunday, some speculated that he had hurt himself on the head hours after being arrested.
This argument appears to be more unlikely considering the existence of injuries on the deceased’s hands and shoulders suggests defensive wounds sustained during a violent confrontation.
The National Police Service first reported that Ojwang struck his head against the cell wall.
Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja later amended his account of events, claiming the influencer was discovered asleep in his cell.
Kanja also revealed that Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat filed an official complaint against Ojwang, which led to his detention and subsequent questioning.
On Monday, during a press briefing at Nairobi’s Central Police Station, the Inspector General answered questions from media.
Who do you turn to when the scene of crime is a police station? Who protects you from the police?

Meanwhile, when further information about Ojwang’s death emerged, tensions rose at the City Mortuary.
Dozens of demonstrators gathered, asking to see the late influencer’s remains and explanations about his abrupt death.
The demonstrators, many armed with phones, staged a standoff at a roundabout outside Nairobi Funeral Home, previously City Mortuary, demanding accountability for Ojwang’s murder, which they called suspicious.
Furthermore, the protestors requested the resignation of Kenya Police Service Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat, whom Inspector General Douglas Kanja had previously identified as the complainant in a case that resulted in Ojwang’s arrest.
