THREE Ruto CSs Make New Appointments To Their Ministries

Cabinet Secretaries Geoffrey Ruku, Eric Mugaa, and Julius Ogamba have made numerous appointments in their respective ministries.

In a gazette notice, Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku named Lewis Nyaribo Oburu to the Institute of Human Resource Management Council for three years, representing the Nyanza and Western Regions.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by regulation 4(1) of the Human Resource Management Professionals (Elections to the Council) Regulations, 2015, as read together with section 7(1)(d) of the Human Resource Management Professionals Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes appoints Lewis Nyaribo Oburu to be a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management Council, representing Nyanza and Western Region, for three years,” the notice read.

Oburu previously worked for the County Government of Kisii until his dismissal. Oburu, along with other county employees, went to court while the matter was still pending.

Meanwhile, Education CS Julius Migos Ogamba chose Professor Shem Wandiga to chair the Council of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.

Wandiga will be at the lead for three years.

Wandiga is a don with a good background in Chemistry. He formerly served as Chancellor of Egerton University.

The professor also served as Dean of the College of Scholars at the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) and was a member of its governing council.

Meanwhile, Water CS Eric Mugaa reappointed Bernard Kipsengeret Koros, Simon Ngugi Mwihaki, and Rodgers Chepkwony to the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority for a three-year term.

Koros is a former Member of Parliament for Sigowet-Soin who is well known for a confrontation with the current Treasury CS John Mbadi in 2021.

Drama followed when the two engaged in a fist brawl during a contentious vote on the Political Parties Amendment Bill.
