EPRA Announces New Retail Fuel Prices With Mombasa Marginally Lower
The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced that fuel prices would remain unchanged from December 15 to January 14.
For the third month in a straight, the regulator declared that Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene retail prices in Nairobi will be Ksh184.52, Ksh171.47, and Ksh154.78.
“In accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, we have calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products which will be in force from 15th December 2025 to 14th January 2026,” a notice from EPRA read.
The current pump prices are expected to include the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT), in accordance with the terms of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024, and the revised excise duty rates adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.

In Mombasa, pump prices are anticipated to be somewhat lower for the next month, with petrol at Ksh181.24 and diesel at Ksh161.19. Kerosene costs Ksh151.49.
In Nakuru, super fuel will cost Ksh183.56 and diesel Ksh170.87. Kerosene will cost Ksh154.21.

According to EPRA, the average landing cost of imported Super Petrol fell by more than Ksh3000 (4.25%) during October and November, from Ksh79,712.54 per cubic metre to Ksh76,326.49.
The landed cost of diesel increased from Ksh81,760.91 in October to Ksh84,231 in November.
During the same period, kerosene’s landed cost increased by 5.62 percent, rising from Ksh81,388.83 to Ksh85,880.82 per cubic metre.
