Sifuna, Babu Owino Faction Announces ‘Linda Mwananchi’ Tour
A group of ODM leaders aligned with Secretary General Edwin Sifuna is set to launch the “Linda Mwananchi Tour”.
The strategy calls for a grassroots political mobilisation push to commence in Busia County, signifying fresh political engagement and positioning within the opposition party.
The “Linda Mwananchi” trip, which is set to begin in Busia Town on Sunday, February 8, is planned to bring together various ODM politicians, party officials, and political analysts for public events and rallies.

The event will feature a panel of ODM politicians and party figures, as well as political observers, who will discuss governance and political events.
Senators Edwin Sifuna of Nairobi, Richard Onyonka of Kisii, Godfrey Osotsi of Vihiga, and Erick Okong’o Mogeni of Nyamira are anticipated to attend.
Babu Owino, Caleb Amisi, Wanami Wamboka, Patrick Makau, Joshua Kimilu, and Majimbo Kalasinga are among the National Assembly members anticipated to attend the event.
Wilberforce Oundo, Raphael Wanjala, Caroli Omondi, Obadiah Barongo, Clive Gisairo, and Antoney Kibagendi are among the parliamentarians scheduled to take part in the grassroots mobilisation.
Brian Weke, a political analyst who is not a senator or member of parliament, is also on the list of participants.
The ODM lineup for the Busia trip is mostly made up of party members who oppose the nascent UDA-ODM alliance structure, highlighting the party’s persistent tensions.

While ODM has not issued an official party statement on the tour, the initiative highlights growing rifts within the ODM party.
This is because leaders allied to party leadership figures, such as Senator Oburu Oginga, have publicly supported the merger with the ruling coalition.
