Another TWO Kenyans Killed As Ukraine Finds Bodies Near Lyman
The bodies of two Kenyans recruited by Russia to fight in Ukraine have been recovered near the city of Lyman in the Donetsk area, according to Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence.
The deceased have been named as Ombwori Denis Bagaka (born January 30, 1987) and Wahome Simon Gititu (born May 21, 1991).
Their bodies were discovered beside those of another Kenyan mercenary, Clinton Nyapara Mogesa, who had been killed in the same region.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, all three Kenyans were recruited in Qatar and worked for security businesses that offered high and stable pay.

Bagaka and Mogesa arrived at a recruitment center in Yaroslavl, Russia, on September 27, 2025, with Gititu joining them a month later on October 28.
Following a brief training session, the three were assigned to the Donbas region and charged with storming Lyman.
Ukraine said that when they moved through a ‘kill zone’, the Ukrainian Defence Forces fought and killed all three mercenaries.
Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence observed that the Russian command did not take any measures to support or evacuate the mercenaries throughout the battle.
The brief further stated that the two were identified as Kenyans based on the passports and identification documents seized from their person.
Meanwhile, Mogesa was discovered six days ago at one of the positions held by Russian forces in the Donetsk region after an assault operation which turned deadly.

It is believed that he also previously lived and worked in Qatar before later signing a contract with the Russian army and was subsequently assigned to one of Russia’s assault units.

After his death, Russian forces did not evacuate his body, and his family has yet to receive any official communication from Russian authorities regarding his death.
