Armed Police Kick Out Former CS From His Karen Property
Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju now claims that police officers forcefully entered his Karen property in the early hours of Saturday morning and kicked him out before occupying the premises.
Tuju said officers from the Rapid Response Unit stormed his compound in Karen at around 3 am and ordered him out without presenting a court order.
“Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Raphael Tuju. It is 3 am. I have just been attacked by a squad of policemen at Karen in Nairobi,” Tuju said.
“They have kicked out my guards and security and occupied my facility by force.”
While lamenting the incident, the former Jubilee Secretary General insisted that the officers lacked legal authority to remove him from the property and vowed that he would not leave.
“I am not going to leave this place. They have to kill me first because they have no court order,” he said.
“It is not lawful for them to come to my premises at this time and force me out.”
The former Jubilee Secretary General added that he was ready to die defending the property, saying the actions taken against him were unlawful.
“This is not law, and if it were law, it would be the law of the jungle. I am steadfast and ready to die. If I die in this place, may God bless you,” Tuju added.
The incident comes amid an ongoing court battle that could result in Tuju losing his prime property in Karen.
Recently, the High Court declined to immediately stop the execution of an earlier ruling that cleared the way for some of the properties to be auctioned.
The March 9 ruling struck out Tuju’s amended application and lifted earlier court orders that had prevented the defendants from dealing with the contested properties.
In the ruling, Justice Josephine Mong’are declined to grant interim orders sought by Tuju, which were meant to temporarily stop the implementation of a decision delivered on March 9, 2026.

But days later, on Thursday, March 12, Tuju secured a reprieve after the High Court allowed him and his company to seek leave to appeal a ruling permitting the auction of his high-end properties.
Justice Josephine Wayua Mongare certified the application as urgent and directed that the matter be mentioned on March 17 before the Commercial and Tax Division for further directions.
However, Tuju’s lawyers argued that unless the court halts the process, auctioneers could proceed with the sale of the contested properties, rendering the intended appeal meaningless.
And with the latest developments, their fears may have been realised.
