“You can hire the Kenya Police Band for your private functions which incude weddings, graduations and corporate events,” stated KPS

The Ksh40,000 is for the entry-level fee, usually for standard events such as regional conferences, training seminars, corporate team-building, networking cocktail parties, product launches, and annual general meetings.
On the other hand, the Ksh60,000 tier is for complex or corporate engagements, including workshops, team-building activities like scavenger hunts, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, such as charity bike builds.
On the basis of revenue allocation, the funds are directed toward the Police Sacco and welfare maintenance funds.
KPS stresses that their band possesses tremendous professionalism and a musical heritage that transcends the ages, and thus has the experience to provide entertainment for any occasion.
“With unmatched discipline and a rich musical heritage, the band delivers a unique and memorable experience for any occasion,” highlighted KPS.
The band, based at the National Police College Main Campus in Kiganjo, Nyeri County, is widely recognised for its precision in marching and its strong musical heritage, built over many decades of service.
It is not just one unit either. The KPS Band operates two distinct musical divisions, each tailored to serve different audiences and occasions depending on the nature and mood of the event.
The first is the Brass Band, which specialises in instrumental performances for parades, graduations, and official ceremonies, making it a natural fit for formal and structured functions that require a touch of grandeur.
The second is the Jazz Band, a more versatile unit that performs contemporary and faith-based melodies, ideal for spiritual gatherings and entertainment-driven events where the atmosphere needs to feel warm and celebratory.

On the other hand, the Administration Police Service Band is also one of Kenya’s oldest musical outfits, currently stationed at the National Police College, Embakasi ‘A’ Campus in Nairobi.
The band operates four units: Marching Bands A and B for state functions, the Utawala Jazz Dance Band for diverse performances, and the APS Band Orchestra for formal orchestral classics, each with its specific functions.
This goes against the presumed status quo, as most members of the public believe that police bands are restricted only to state functions such as national holidays, presidential functions, swearing-in ceremonies, and diplomatic receptions.
This announcement also comes as a surprise, as most members of the public believe they provide formal music, including national anthems and ceremonial marches.
