On June 18, at 10 a.m., presiding judges and heads of stations will lead remembrance meetings in common rooms at all court stations nationwide.
“This is to allow Judges, Judicial Officers and Staff to commemorate the life of Kivuti and to commiserate with the family and one another,” Koome stated.
The Ministry of Interior and the Office of the Inspector General of Police were urged to deploy additional officers to supplement the Judiciary Police Unit.
According to Koome, the Judiciary’s administrative units will use available resources to improve security at all courts.
Additionally, Martha Koome stated that judicial officers and staff at the Makadara Law Courts would continue to receive psychosocial support in order to cope with the incident.
“We call upon professional medical and psychological counselling entities to provide complimentary psycho-social support to Judiciary members and affected court users across the country,” the Chief Justice urged.
The Chief Justice also formed a committee of judicial officers to oversee funeral preparations.
The committee was directed to collaborate closely with Kivuti’s family to ensure a proper send-off.
