‘I’d Be Relieved!’ – David Ndii Responds To Claims Of Ruto’s Plan To Reduce Advisers
David Ndii, President William Ruto’s economic adviser, has stated that he will be relieved if he is affected by the Kenya Kwanza administration’s plan to cut advisers.
In response to a newspaper headline titled “Why Ruto advisers’ days are numbered,” Ndii stated that he will be relieved of his duties as one of the president’s key advisers.

“You don’t know how relieved I’d be,” Ndii said.
When asked why he could not resign from his position, the controversial economist stated that he is not a quitter and that quitters are losers.
What’s stopping you from quitting?

He claimed he could not resign because he was not a loser. Ndii refused to leave until Ruto fired him.
Following the rejection of the Finance Bill 2024, Ruto announced a list of austerity measures he intends to implement to reduce government spending.
One of the measures is to reduce the number of government advisers by at least 50%, effective immediately.
Ruto also announced the removal of budgets for unconstitutional offices of the First Lady, Second Lady, and Prime Cabinet Secretary’s spouse.
Furthermore, Ruto stated that confidential budgets in Executive offices will be eliminated, and at least 47 state corporations with overlapping functions will be dissolved, with employees transferred to other ministries.
The austerity measures were implemented as a result of widespread protests, which saw protesters storm parliament after MPs passed the contentious Finance Bill 2024.
The protests ended tragically, with at least 42 people killed by security forces. Ruto was forced to eat humble pie and turned down the bill.
