Dismissed Kenya CSs Rush To Social Media After Cabinet Dissolution
Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry, Soipan Tuya, has joined the list of former Cabinet Secretaries who have expressed gratitude to President William Ruto for entrusting them.
Tuya took to her X account hours after the head of state dissolved the entire cabinet except for the offices of Prime CS and Foreign Affairs, praising the move as in the best interests of Kenyans who have been advocating for government reforms.

Similarly, Aisha Jumwa, who previously served as the CS in the Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts, and Heritage, thanked the President for honoring her with the docket over the past 21 months.

Apart from thanking the head of state, Simon Chelugui, Ex-Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Cooperatives and MSME Development, took the opportunity to thank Kenyans and all stakeholders in the Co-operative (Saccos, societies, housing, transport, and investment) and MSME sectors for their tremendous support.

Former Defense Secretary Aden Duale, for his part, praised Ruto for his bold decision to overhaul his Cabinet.
Through his X account, the former CS praised the Head of State for giving him the opportunity to serve as the first Defence CS under the Kenya Kwanza regime.

This comes just days after Ruto withdrew the contentious bill that hinted at austerity measures to promote good governance.
He declared radical changes, including the dissolution of various entities, in response to the youth’s demands to reorganize his government.

The head of state explained that the move would ensure that the government implements austerity measures.
He suspended the appointment of 50 Chief Cabinet Secretaries and reduced government advisors by 50%. This resulted in fewer advisors across all 21 Ministries.
He also removed the budgetary allocation for First Lady Rachael Ruto and Deputy President’s wife Dorcas Rigathi, whose offices will no longer receive state funding.
