Martha Karua Clarifies Possible Raila Partnership Again
Martha Karua, the leader of the People’s Liberation Party, has denied the notion of working with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga again in light of his impending pact with President William Ruto.
During an interview with KTN, Karua stated that it was impossible to cooperate with Odinga because he had yet to decide whether to join the present administration or continue in opposition.
According to Karua, Odinga’s tactics of cooperating with the government without a formal agreement with President William Ruto were untenable and illegal.
“I think we cannot keep speculating. Right now, Raila has one leg in government and one in the opposition; it is untenable and it is against the law,” Karua stated.

“He must make up his mind to stick with his party—either join the government by forming a post-election coalition or stand firmly with the opposition,” she added.
However, Karua insisted that the opposition would not allow Odinga and his allies to collaborate with President Ruto’s administration without a formal agreement, as it was unlawful.
Addressing the issue, Karua urged the former Prime Minister to consider formalising his agreement with Ruto in conformity with the Constitution.
“We have to take appropriate action to ensure the illegal cohabitation we are currently witnessing in the Kenya Kwanza government is terminated and that they are forced to formalise their political marriage,” Karua stated.
Karua’s statements come as Odinga prepares to make a highly anticipated declaration about his political future.

Odinga finished his statewide consultative forum on Thursday, March 6, after a two-week tour that included meetings with numerous groups to discuss the next steps.
The former Prime Minister addressed his final consultative meeting in Nairobi, where he urged the government to solve crucial issues impacting Kenyans, especially the challenges facing the Social Health Authority.
Similarly, Odinga, speaking at a consultative conference in Wajir, denied the notion of collaborating with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua ahead of the 2027 general election.
