RMS Makes MASSIVE Programming Changes As Jeff Koinange, Tuva Moved
Royal Media Services (RMS) has made significant adjustments to its radio stations, removing seasoned journalists from their original programming in an effort to revitalise its broadcasting environment.
Jeff Koinange and his counterpart Patrick Igunza were shifted from their customary morning show on Hot96 FM, according to a notification issued on Monday, February 9.
Their replacements will be Nick Odhiambo and Cynthia Mwangi.
Koinange and Igunza were then transferred to the driving show at the same station in the evening.
Eeeeey!!! You heard that right😂😂 Your drive home just got a wake up call!!! 🙌🔥

The adjustments were verified by Fred Afune, the company’s radio and ICT director, who stated that the shake, while daring, will take effect immediately.
“By moving a morning legend to the evening or a late-night storyteller to the mid-morning, we are challenging the presenters to bring their magic to a new audience and giving the fans a side of their favorite stars they have never heard before,” Afune stated.
Aside from the changes at Hot96, Radio Citizen also underwent some restructuring.
Jambo Kenya, the station’s morning show, will now be hosted by Tina Ogal, Abdi Munai, and Kuka Kisondio.
The trio replaces Vincent Ateya and Melody Sinzore, who were relocated to the afternoon drive show.
Willy Tuva, a legendary presenter, has also been shifted from his customary Mambo Mseto show, which will now be hosted by Qtee, Bensu, and DJ Flash. Tuva was later transferred to the Waks Tikitaka show.

Tuva’s new show is typically composed of slang, mostly in the Sheng language, which is unusual for Tuva, given that he is well known for his Swahili show.

The reshuffle is seen as part of RMS’s broader strategy to refresh its programming and engage listeners with new formats.
Mulembe FM and Inooro FM are also revising their lineups, with Omar Bakuli moving from Mulembe’s Breakfast Show to the Drive Show, Pamela Kadima taking over Breakfast.
At Inooro, Jeff Kuria and Nyoxx join the Drive Show ‘Cua Cua’ while legendary late-night host Nderitu Waihura takes a break as Njuguna and Karwimbo fill his slot.
Typically, radio stations tend to experiment by taking Popular morning hosts who often have a strong following to evening slots to potentially allow the station to attract their loyal listeners to other parts of the day.
