MP Ready To Resign As Kenyans Express Vote Of No Confidence
Daniel Manduku, MP for Nyaribari Masaba, expressed his willingness to resign on Monday in light of the country’s current state.
During an interview with Spice FM, the legislator stated that the public had lost faith in the government, prompting the need for MPs to resign.
Manduku also stated that he will continue to call for the dissolution of the Parliament and the holding of new elections so that the government can reclaim legitimacy from the Kenyan people.
The MP stated that even if he resigned, the only solution to Kenya’s problems would be new elections in which Kenyans could choose representatives who would advance their best interests.

“I may resign but Parliament is constituted by quorum as long as there are fifty of us we will still transact business,” Daniel Manduku.
Manduku went on to say that if Kenya held an election in light of recent developments, Kenyans would vote more responsibly.
According to the legislator, Kenyans have voted along party lines rather than based on individuals, resulting in the “six-piece” voting pattern.
He went on to say that his proposal to dissolve the parliament was unpopular with his colleagues, who had pushed him to resign rather than dissolve the parliament.
However, he maintained that the recent invasion of the Parliament demonstrates the institution’s failure to maintain order, respect, and public trust.
Manduku also proposed that Kenya implement a scheduled election system in which leaders for various positions are elected at different intervals.
According to the MP, this would allow Kenyans to accurately rate their leaders and vote objectively.
“The only thing we would have to do is ensure that these elections are affordable,” he said.
